Kiribath (Milk Rice):

Kiribath is a ceremonial dish often enjoyed on special occasions. It's made by cooking rice with coconut milk until it becomes creamy and then cutting it into diamond-shaped pieces. Kiribath is commonly served with a side of lunu miris, seeni sambol and a meat or fish curry. Kiribath can also be eaten with sweet accompaniments like jaggery or bananas.

String hoppers or "Idiyappam"

String Hoppers are delicate rice noodles steamed to perfection and often served with a mixure of side dishes. Usual combination is to eat idiyappam is with kirihodi, Pol Sambol (or coconut yellow sambol), Seeni sambol and a meat or fish curry.

Hoppers (Appa) with and without Egg

Hoppers, known as "Appa," are bowl-shaped, crispy-edged pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk. They come in two main varieties: plain and egg hoppers. Egg hoppers are cooked with an egg cracked into the center. Hoppers can be paired with "lunu miris, seeni sambol and a meat or fish curry.

Coconut (Pol) Roti:

A hearty and rustic option, coconut roti is a flatbread made from grated coconut, wheat or rice flour, and a touch of water. It's typically cooked on a hot griddle until crispy and served with a variety of curries or sambals. Roti is eaten with luni miris, seeni sambol and a meat or fish curry.

Pittu

Pittu is a steamed cylindrical cake made from a mixture of rice flour and grated coconut. It's often paired with a coconut and onion-based curry, such as "kiri hodi" (coconut milk gravy), lunu miris, seeni sambol and meat, fish or vegetable curry.

Sri Lankan Roast Paan: (Traditional Srilankan bread):

Every bite is a celebration with these individually roasted bread slices. Breakfast Accompaniments

Pol Sambol: Pol sambol is a delightful and spicy coconut relish made from freshly grated coconut, red onions, chili powder, lime juice, and Maldive fish. It's a popular accompaniment to many Sri Lankan breakfast dishes, adding a burst of flavor and heat.

Coconut yellow sambol: Coconut yellow sambol is a mixture of freshly grated coconut, red onions, green chilies, lime juice, and dried sprats. It adds a burst of tangy and spicy flavors to the meal. Luni miris is a spicy mixture of red onions, chili, and lime juice.

Seeni sambol: Seeni Sambol is a sweet and Spicy Sri Lankan delight. At its core, Seeni Sambol is a medley of finely chopped onions that have been slowly and lovingly caramelized to perfection with a mixture of spices. The result is a deep, brown-hued mixture that's not just sweet, but also rich and aromatic due the spices including fiery red chilli flakes that packs a punch.
